Frequently asked questions

The short version of how Ovro works, what it costs, and what it can watch.

What is Ovro?

Ovro is an AI-powered website change monitor. You point it at any URL and it watches the page on a schedule — capturing screenshots, comparing snapshots, and using a vision model to flag meaningful changes. When something moves, you get a one-line summary, plus a before/after visual diff.

How does change detection work?

On every check, Ovro renders the page in a real browser, captures a screenshot, and compares it to the last snapshot. A pixel-diff pass narrows down the regions that actually moved, then a vision AI looks at those regions and decides whether the change is meaningful — a navigation re-render or rotating ad gets ignored, but a price drop, a new headline, or a removed CTA gets surfaced. You can also describe what to watch for (e.g. "alert on stock-status changes only") and the AI uses that as a filter.

What kinds of pages can Ovro watch?

Anything publicly reachable: pricing pages, careers pages, competitor product docs, regulation pages, news headlines, status pages, e-commerce listings, blog indexes. If a headless browser can render it, Ovro can monitor it.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes 3 active pages on a daily check interval — enough to try Ovro on the URLs that matter most before deciding whether to upgrade. Paid plans unlock more pages, faster intervals (down to 5 minutes), more notification channels, and longer snapshot history.

How does the Insights feed work?

Insights is the home screen — a chronological feed of every meaningful change across all your pages, newest first. Each card shows the page, a one-line AI summary, severity (high/medium/low), a was/now diff for text changes, and a link through to the full visual diff. It's designed to read like a morning briefing, not a noisy dashboard.

What notification channels are supported?

In-app notifications and email are available on every plan. Paid tiers add Slack, Discord, custom webhooks, and SMS for the highest-urgency alerts. Each channel has its own minimum severity, so you can route routine changes to email and only page yourself for high-severity ones.

How often does Ovro check each page?

The default on the free plan is once a day. Plus runs hourly, Pro every 30 minutes, and Pro Fast goes as low as every 5 minutes. You can set a different interval per page within your tier's limit, so a high-stakes pricing page can run on the shortest cadence while a blog index runs daily.

How long is change history kept?

Each plan has its own retention window — the free plan keeps recent snapshots for a couple of weeks, paid tiers extend to months or a full year. Within that window, every screenshot, every diff, and every AI summary stays available so you can revisit a change later.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your account page and you'll keep paid features until the end of the billing period, after which the account reverts to free. Your pages and history are never deleted on downgrade.
